Project Leader - Out of School Clubs
The NAS has a longstanding contract with South Glos Council to deliver youth club sessions for local autistic children and young people aged 8-18 yrs. At club, autistic young people have fun together, make friends, learn to keep friends, learn some skills like cooking and sometimes even become volunteers with us, which can open doors to employment.
Right now, our club has a group of dedicated volunteers (most of them autistic) and they are looking for a new club leader to run weekly club activities with them ( such as making pizzas, arts and crafts, games, going to the cinema). We call them project leaders. This is a part-time- 10 hrs a week, paid position.
We ask leaders to run a weekly session, so face-to-face work will be once a week, between 6 and 10pm, in our venue in Yate. Other 6 hours are allocated for admin, shopping and planning. We offer training, support, mentoring and learning opportunities.
We truly welcome more applications of autistic and other neurodivergent local people, so we are sharing the advert with as many local groups as possible.
